We are a brand new Hen Weekend Destination in Slane, Co Meath offering luxurious boutique camping experiences staying in handcrafted yurts or cosy shepherd huts. Nestled in a magical grove on the Slane Castle Estate – Hare's Leap @ Rock Farm Slane offers the ultimate location for you and the girls when organising your big weekend away.

We are delighted to offer Hen Groups a special HEN WEEKEND PACKAGE at Rock Farm Slane. Starting from just €50* per HEN per night - If it’s luxurious Glamping you are after then look no further!

Why choose Hare's Leap for your Hen Weekend?

Launched in 2013 we have hosted many hen parties at Hare's Leap who have - quite literally had a ball! Offering a unique experience whilst ensuring you have all your creature comforts.

Staying in either a luxurious yurt or cosy shepherd hut – Our beautiful accommodation and unique setting takes Glamping to another level! If the group is bigger than 25+ we are delighted to offer use of our Bell Tents so everyone gets to stay together on site.

Our Yurts (5 available) Our luxurious yurts are presented fully furnished. Sleeping 4 to 6 people - all beds are dressed in hotel standard linen for your comfort. Fresh towels are also provided with our compliments for use in our lovely hot showers. The Yurts are round handmade wooden structures covered in a thick heavy canvas – making them breathable and waterproof! We will keep you snug in your Yurt with a real wood burning stove too. Each Yurt has a locking front door and window for natural day light. When it gets dark we have provided you with sparkly fairy lights (uber girlie) and beautiful lanterns for candles.

The cosy shepherd huts are charming old style caravans and sleep up to 2 people. They fit a kingsize bed dressed in fresh crisp linen, blankets and all the same cosy furnishings and heating found in the yurts.

If you are looking to upscale your Hen Weekend we are delighted to accommodate additional sleepers in our fabulous bell tents. These can sleep 4 to 6 people and can be pitched up around the site – giving your event a real festival theme. Note: These tents are not fully furnished and guests booking bell tents will need to order additional bedding if required.

If your booking is for a group of 25 hen’s - you benefit from SITE EXCLUSIVITY! That’s right ladies – you get the WHOLE CAMPSITE to yourselves!

When is Glamping Season (Open/Closed Season)?

Our Glamping Season runs from Mid-April – October. We encourage you to book early to ensure you can get the dates you’re looking for.

Our Hen Activity Packages start from just €15 per hen and bespoke days can be created on request – here’s an example:

1) Active Hen - Kayaking, rafting, high wire rope walks, tree climbing, archery, paintball/clay pigeon/horse riding.

2) The Tour De Hen - The Secret Bike Tour - A guided Electric Bike Tour led by Carina Mount Charles. With private access to some amazing locations you won't find on any other tour. Refreshments and luxury picnic are included.

3) Beauty Hen - Facial Pamper Package - Local therapists will provide in-yurt rejuvenating treatments sending you back to modern life with a fresh and glowing complexion. Why not top it off with a moonlit soak in our outdoor woodburning hot tub before bedtime?

4) The Crafty Hen - Arts & Crafts – Local crafters can come in house to Le Shack and offer a host of activities - from wedding favors to making Willow Hearts for the Church Aisles. Get hands on and get the girls to make something for the big day.

5) Mother Hen – The Fertility Road Trip – As you explore the local area you will see just how close we are to The Magical Hill of Tara. Local folklore has it that the phallic stone on the top of Tara has magical Fertility Properties ... for those Hen's looking to get their 'family under way’ we strongly recommend a visit - and give the Phallic Stone good old rub for luck.

6) Yoga Hen - relax, breath and be....Not all hen groups want a full on weekend - we can arrange a Yoga retreat for you and the girls - relax, unwind and discover in our tranquil magical grove at Hare's Leap.

Other Activities on site - We also invite you to make use of our large green field at the bottom of the campsite – how about a good old team based game of Rounder’s, Croquet or perhaps you’re planning a Sports Day or Treasure Hunt. We also offer Private Access to the Boyne River for a spot of Wild Swimming – make sure you pack your swimming togs! Hot Tub's soak, woodland walks (8km to Navan) and Electric Bike hire.

Whilst we operate a self-catering campsite we are delighted to offer groups food packs which are one less thing to worry about and we will have ready for your arrival.

Breakfast Options

Breakfast Packs €8 per person

All packs include basics: bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, juices and condiments – then you opt for either:

· Meaty Breakfast Pack – includes a selection of locally produced bacon, sausages and pudding

· Veggie Breakfast Pack – includes a selection of locally produced cheeses, eggs, mushrooms, onions, tomato’s, cereals and fresh fruit

BBQ Pack and Catering

Whilst we are happy to cook and host a BBQ for you – some guests like to Do-it-themselves. We have a large BBQ area for you to cook your food as well as a handmade CLAY OVEN perfect for FRESHLY BAKED PIZZA (Doughs and delicious ingredients are available by pre-order). Don’t forget we have a large gas hob inside the kitchen of Le Shack for your food prep.

Packs includes - seasonal cuts of meat, sausages, ribs and burgers all for you to cook yourself on Le Shack’s own BBQ - €15pp

A Hosted BBQ – includes chef, all food, bread and salads - €25pp (minimum numbers required)

The Communal Building – Le Shack a great place to hang out!

Central to the campsite you will find Le Shack. This is where our toilets, showers and self catering kitchen facilities can be found. Yes, we do call it Le Shack but it’s far from a shack.

Our showers are gas heated offering lots of hot water for the morning or perhaps after an hours Kayaking on the River Boyne as part of our Active Hen package! Our toilets are in keeping with our Eco-tourism approach to the campsite including a compost loo or two.

The main part of Le Shack is where you will find our kitchen facilities. We have created quite a homely space for you to prepare food, eat and relax. With a fully serviced kitchen, large fridge, gas hob, wash up area – you will find it to be a home from home – or later in the evening the place to be for the party proper!
