Let’s Dress The Hen Up - Hen Do Costume Ideas

Hen parties are known to include a fancy dress theme where everyone dresses up in something to do with the theme and lots of fun is had as all the ladies go gallivanting around in their costumes.

But let’s try something new! Why not dress just the hen-up while all the other ladies dress as they would on a normal night out? It’s the perfect way to let everyone around know that the only lady in costume is the one that the hen party is for. All eyes will be on her and that’s the aim of the game, right ladies?

So, let’s get into some of our favourite hen costume ideas you can bring along and have the hen dress up in...and, hey, maybe she can dress up in more than one costume!

So here it is; Our Hen Night Costume Ideas!

1. Cop

The hen will feel in charge while wearing this costume. It can be done in many ways. The classic cop costume will add some sexy mysteriousness to the hen, and she’ll feel great in the get-up. On the other hand, she could dress up as a member of A Garda Siochana (the Irish Police) and it could lead to some funny moments as the hen party goes on.

2. Cowgirl

Yee-haw, partner! There are a few hen night costume ideas here...the hen can dress up as Woody or Jesse from Toy Story for some hilarity, the standard cowboy outfit for some more laughs and giggles, or she can go the sexy cowgirl route and wear some short denim jeans, a checkered shirt with a light T-shirt underneath, a cowboy hat and some cowboy boots!

3. Nun

The solo version of the Sister Act! The hen can dress up in her finest nun costume equipped with some stylish rosary beads and a massive cross around her neck. The innocence of the costume may be tested as the night goes on though so make sure she doesn’t drink too much of that Holy Water.

4. Cheerleader

If you think of all those classic American high school movies, then you’ll definitely know the cheerleader costume we’re talking about. With the brightly coloured short dress that normally has a capital letter on the front and the pom poms that will make the hen want to swing her arms around in joy, this costume is super simple but will be sure to draw attention her way.

5. Superhero

Last but not least, on our list of iconic hen do costumes is a superhero costume!

Dress the hen up in a heroic Wonder Woman costume and make sure she has the lasso because this simple outfit can be doubled up to start a game. Wonder Woman’s lasso has the power to make people tell the truth so the hen can go around lassoing people all night and she can ask them questions to which they have to tell the truth.

These ideas are more than enough to show that dropping the fancy dress theme for the whole hen party and just applying it to the hen can be just as much fun as everyone dressing up, if not more! This is her moment to shine and what better way than to make her stand out from the crowd?

We booked with henparty.ie back on 2019 but when Covid hit everything shut down!! We were finally able to go in March 2022 and any deposits and payments made were easily transferred which was great. Headed to Galway and we were booked in the imperial hotel…
