Located 10 mins from the gourmet town of Kinsale and 25 min drive from Cork City, is Garrettstown Surf School, the closest surfing beach to Cork and Kinsale.


Established in 2004, GTOWN SURF SCHOOL is Irish Surfing Association approved with experienced surf instructors and coasteering guides. We offer a multitude of exciting and Fully insured activities for your HENS day out including:

Gtown Surf School provides an organised and exciting day out for all participants.

West Cork is blessed with a beautiful coastline and what better way to spend your day out than in the pristine waters of Garrettstown beach with Gtown Surf School.

If surfing is your thing, then we have you covered. But if your group prefers more adventure then lets go coasteering.


SURF LESSONS are in waist depth water and wetsuits/ boots etc are all supplied. So all you need is swimwear, a towel and loads of enthusiasm.

COASTEERING offers your group an alternative activity if on the day we have no waves and is Ireland's newest and most exciting activity. Bouyancy aids and helmets/ wetsuits are all supplied. But trainers to wear are not, so make sure to bring your own that you do not mind getting wet. Confidence and competence in the water is required, but it's not that scary!


STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING is another way to explore the beautiful West Cork coastline, seals and if we are lucky (and we have been before) a spot of Whale watching. Wetsuit/ bouyancy aid is supplied.


All activities can be recorded on our GoPro camera so you can take the memories of the day away with you.


With our partners at THE COFFEE DOCK and TOTO PIZZA/ WAFFLES, complimentary Tea/ Coffee can be organised upon arrival or at the end of lessons. Gtown Surf Scholl can cater for an group size and offers the most competitive rates. Information regarding transport to and from the beach can be arranged upon request.
